Up to the Minute Snippet, by Linda Harden

Hi, everyone —
Yes, it’s been a very long time but again, I have been struggling with whether or not to continue “Greetings” since it has been getting more and more difficult with all of the bizarre censorship going on. And the company I have to deal with is not helping. But I will give this a try and see how it goes.
Bob and I are doing great — he’s playing golf and I am walking three times a week back, forth and around Waterside Shops. There is a lot of activity going on there….the new Hermes store where Ralph Lauren used to be is now taking shape quickly. Yamron Jewelers is doing a complete gutting and remodel. There is a new real estate store where the Villequin (sp) bathing suits store used to be. A new store called Evereve is going where Tina Stephens used to be. Tina Stephens is now where Papyrus used to be. A store called Zimmerman will be going in next to Max Mara. And the new Ralph Lauren store is where Brooks Brothers used to be. The former Nordstrom store is still sitting there as empty as can be…there are a lot of rumors going around about what will eventually go there but nothing concrete as yet. Stay tuned for that.
We have been lucky….and blessed… that we have not had any major storms or hurricanes this summer. Of course, there is still time. After all, Irma reared her ugly head not that long ago on September 10 but fingers are crossed that we continue in our usual summer weather.
The Ritz project is moving forward with piles of dirt and bulldozers, the One Naples project has not broken ground. The Naples Beach Hotel tear down and renovation has not started nor has the boutique hotel on Third Street South. BUT the real estate market has gone absolutely crazy.
Our Publix is undergoing some changes — maybe others are too. The new theatre in Coastland Mall is scheduled to open soon and the Baker Museum is now open and looks pretty gorgeous.
I will leave it there for now and see if this works. Always check your junk file for “Greetings” as that is the new obstacle I am dealing with. Until next time —
Cheers –
