Dave Bego

Dave-Bego-PostThe author’s expertise to write this book, as noted on CNN’s Lou Dobbs program in Spring 2009, stems from his actual firsthand experience while waging war with Andy Stern and the SEIU from late 2006 until the present day. Unlike other corporate executives who either compromise their core values and cave in to union demands, or those who simply talk about what it would be like to face financial disaster based on fighting back against one of the most powerful unions in existence today, the author has lived the experience while under attack from Stern and his union thugs. For more than 32 months and counting, he has had the courage to stand up for what he believes in, protecting his employees at all costs against loss of their freedom to vote in “secret ballot” elections with no threat of repercussion from those who may disagree with their choice as to whether unionization is proper. Despite damage to his reputation and EMS’s, the author has managed thus far to survive the SEIU onslaught and emerge with integrity in tact.

Truly the voice and face of the opposition to the pending Employees Free Choice Act, the author has enhanced his credential through various media appearances, meetings with congressional leadership or their aides including Senators Richard Lugar (R-IN), Evan Bayh (D-IN), Harry Reid (D-NV), and Arlen Spector (D-PA), and representative Mike Pence (R-IN). In early 2009, the author sent the attached letter (see Appendix) to every member of Congress outlining factors for consideration and opposition to the EFCA. Soon to be represented by the D.C. public relations firm, the author intends to broaden his media exposure so as to speak out against the legislation, one he believes is a direct threat to entrepreneurship, free enterprise, and capitalism.

President and CEO of Executive Management Services, an industry leader in the field of environmental workplace maintenance, the author founded a company priding itself on providing clients a single-source solution for commercial cleaning, facility services management, maintenance supplies and security. Operating at high standards using cutting-edge technology and a unrelenting dedication to employee security, the EMS group offers competitive pay rates and benefits attracting the best and brightest to their ever-expanding team. As of April 2009, EMS employed nearly 5,000 workers in thirty-three states providing the author the type of management experience and never-give-up attitude required to fight Andy Stern and the SEIU in order to save his company.

As a recognized leader in his industry, the author is a member of the nearly 20,000 strong International Facility Management Association, the 16,500 member Building Owners and Managers Association, the nearly 6,000-member International Sanitary Supply Association, and the 2,000 company member Building Services Contractors Association International. Honored as a finalist for the Indiana Entrepreneur of the Year Award, he has guided EMS to a prestigious listing as one of the nation’s top Building Service Contractors. Married to Barbara, company secretary/treasurer, with daughter Kelly and son Mark who also work for EMS, and son Brian, who heads up an EMS sister company Moorfeed, Dave lives in Fishers, Indiana where he enjoys golf, skiing and playing basketball.

Dave Bego’s tale of fighting the SEIU’s advances are chronicled in this riveting new release The Devil At Our Doorstep.

The Devil at Our Doorstep, a non-fiction account by Dave Bego, describes the impact of unions on the economic and political landscape of America. He warns of the dangers posed by giving greater control to these firmly-entrenched organizations and their political supporters/dependents.

Bego, an entrepreneur and business owner, knows first-hand the intimidation, physical threats, character assassination and other tactics of Big Labor through this battle to protect his employees from the SEIU. In this follow-up to his book The Devil at My Doorstep, Bego describes his fight against SEIU and seeks to expose the need for Right to Work, the political collusion between Big Labor’s and President Obama and the media’s bias on the union issue to establish Card Check and eliminate the secret ballot election. Mixing personal experience with business and political policy critique, Bego presents readers with the case against those who would limit the freedoms of other Americans for their own gain.
