An Up to the Minute Snippet

URGENT — PSA (Public Service Announcement — CIBAO Grille

Hi, everyone — first of all, let me apologize to all of you who already know the recent news about one of our most FAVORITE restaurants, CIBAO GRILLE, of which you have heard me speak so many times.

The owner of CIBAO, and our dear friend, Pedro Nolasco, passed away suddenly last week at the age of 48.  He leaves behind his beloved wife, Pamela and their two gorgeous children, Sabrina, age 7 and Roger, age 4, not to mention his siblings and cousins who all work at Cibao.

My reason for writing today is two fold:

1.  CIBAO GRILLE will remain OPEN for lunch and dinner….such good news for everyone.  The phone number 434-6653 is so overwhelmed with condolence calls that the message box is jammed..  Pedro’s family is working non-stop to get the situation fixed so DO NOT GIVE UP — even drive by if you have to in order to help them out and make a reservation.

2.  Pedro and Pamela had just moved into a brand new home as they looked forward to their future in Naples.  And now, Pamela is on her own to raise Sabrina and Roger….and to continue to make a life for them.  When Pamela is not at the restaurant, she works at the Neighborhood Health Clinic that so many of you know about and support.  Should you want to help Pamela and her children out, you can do so by donating to the following:

Nolasco Children’ College Fund
Payable to Lourdes Pamela Nolasco
13568 Mandarin Circle
Naples, Florida  34109

and/or should you want to memorialize Pedro, you can contribute to the Neighborhood Health Clinic in his name.

Our hearts are broken at Pedro’s shockingly sudden death….and we share that heartbreak with so many friends and neighbors.  Pedro was a sweet, humble and generous young man who always welcomed folks with a big smile, a handshake and/or a big hug….and now he is gone too soon.

I am so sorry to bring you this sad news in paradise.

Cheers –
